Kingsborough Gardens

Full home renovation in West End Glasgow

We were commissioned to restore and fully renovate this beautiful home after another restoration within the family. Our technical knowledge and design aesthetic were an ideal fit for this property.

Our brief was to juxtapose the detailed late victorian architecture with modern clean finishes for an expanding family.

We restored the ceilings and painted the features to enhance the pattern. The walls were a gentle hue of grey/blue set against the crisp white panelling and joinery detail.

We stained the floor boards to a deep charcoal finish experimenting with various wood stains before we were satisfied with the result. Some of the original wall panelling was replicated and restored. Our workshop copied the original panel moulding and manufactured sliding pocket doors and architraves with this feature.

The joinery in both dressing rooms was a smooth panel painted MDF for ease of cleaning. We made the fitted wardrobes with various elements like a drop down Murphy bed, glass fronted drawers, integrated lighting, fluted panels and an oak painted ladder.

The practical flush panel floor to ceiling bathroom storage was ideal for growing clutter that family life inevitably brings. We selected a simple, easy to clean kitchen. Set against the beautifully detailed pocket sliding doors, it creates a striking simplicity that enhances the beauty of these handcrafted doors.

As a gift to the client, we sourced a few pieces of driftwood and made a dining table in our workshop.
